Overlays with Vellum Paper

Overlaying is the method of placing the translucent vellum paper on top of the item with printing on it.

To create a soft look for wedding invitations, or a mysterious look for art paintings, your best bet would be to use what we call the overlay method. With this all you need to do is simply mount a piece of vellum paper on what ever it is your trying to accentuate.

If you want to be more creative you can add small touches to the vellum. You can create a border that matches your theme. You can sprinkle a dash of glitter, or add stickers to personalize it.

If it is a wedding invitation that you want to overlay, you may choose to cut the ends of the vellum paper with special scrap booking pattern scissors to give it an elegant look.
